TABORA: THE Inspector General of Police (IGP) Camilius Wambura has appointed Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Twaha Lulengelule as the new Tabora Regional Police Commander (RPC).

Lulengelule’s new appointment aims to fill the gap left following the death of the region’s former police chief.

According to a statement issued by the Police spokesperson DCP David Misime on Monday, ACP Lulengelule, who previously served as the Regional Crime Officer (RCO) for Tabora, takes over the position after Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police (SACP) Richard Abwao passed away on June 20, 2026.

Before his new appointment, ACP Lulengelule was responsible for overseeing criminal investigations in Tabora
