DODOMA: SEA Cliff Resort & Spa Golf Club Captain Tazio Bercelli led by example after claiming his maiden monthly challenge title by winning the June Golf Challenge held over the weekend at the club’s picturesque course.
Bercelli carded 35 Stableford points over the 18-hole competition to emerge as the overall winner and lift his first monthly challenge trophy.

Patrick O’Rourke finished runner-up with 33 points, while Josh Delooze secured third place on countback after posting 28 points, the same score as fourth-placed Sankei Ole Kenga.
Club Vice Captain Collins Chemng’orem rounded off the top five with 27 points and also claimed the Nearest-to-thePin prize, while Kevin Kibe walked away with the Longest Drive award.
After his victory, Bercelli thanked the players, all organisers and sponsors for making the event another success.
“Thanks, everyone for making it out there. Thanks to the Sea Cliff Golf Team for the great organisation as usual. Looking forward to the next one,” said the Club Captain.
The tournament received support from Sea Cliff Resort & Spa, Villa Kiva, Zanzi Resort, United Petroleum, Auric Air, Zanzibar Serena Hotel and Bluebay Beach Resort & Spa Zanzibar.
The June triumph marked a change at the top after Club Vice-Captain Chemng’orem dominated the May Challenge, where he claimed overall victory with 31 Stableford points, edging Kazim Suleiman, who posted the same score but settled for second place on countback.
The club’s monthly competitions have continued to produce different winners this season.
The April Challenge was won by Patrick O’Rourke, who carded 37 Stableford points to edge Bercelli on countback after both players finished level on points.
Earlier in the season, Andrew Chung claimed the March Challenge with an outstanding 41 Stableford points and also captured the Nearestto-the-Pin prize on Hole 9.
