DAR ES SALAAM: THE 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (Sabasaba) generated TSh3.9 billion in direct sales, while more than 60 per cent of exhibitors secured business opportunities and export orders, signalling strong demand for Tanzanian products.
Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TANTRADE) Director General Dr Latifa Mohamed Khamis said the fair provided a key link between producers and markets by connecting businesses with potential buyers locally, and internationally.
She said 97,350 visitors accessed services provided by government and private sector institutions at the exhibition grounds, including immigration services, National Identification Authority (NIDA) support, legal assistance, and business registration services offered by BRELA.
Medical facilities established at the venue also attended to 2,831 visitors during the exhibition.
Dr Latifa said locally manufactured products dominated the fair, accounting for 58 per cent of all displayed items, while imported products represented 33 per cent. Products developed through local and international partnerships accounted for five per cent.
