CHATO: THE Retired Chief of the Defence Forces, Venance Mabeyo, has stated that the late Dr John Pombe Magufuli taught many important lessons in life and leadership, and he believes that even now, Magufuli continues to pray for the development of Tanzania.
Speaking today, March 17, 2026, during the fifth anniversary commemorations of Dr Magufuli’s death in Chato, General Mabeyo said, “Magufuli taught us many things; many of us live by those lessons and continue to honor him. We pray that God grants him eternal rest in Heaven, and I firmly believe that wherever he is, he continues to pray for Tanzania in all the development initiatives he started and those he hoped would be continued.”

General Mabeyo also emphasized the importance of sustaining the development projects and goals initiated by the late Magufuli, noting that it is the responsibility of current leaders to ensure these efforts endure and grow.
“May God continue to bless our current leaders so they can advance these initiatives and continue to develop us Tanzanians as a whole, so that the progress we reflect on and dream of can be witnessed by each of us,” he stated.
