According to information from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism on Friday, May 29, 2026 the initiative highlights Tanzania’s emerging wine industry, particularly in Dodoma’s Makutupora Valley, where vineyards produce signature wines such as Makutupora dry red alongside varietals including Chenin Blanc, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon.
“Crafted in the semi-arid central plateau of Dodoma, these wines reflect the richness, warmth, and authenticity of Tanzania itself,” the ministry stated.
Additionally, the partnership is also expected to promote sustainable tourism development while showcasing Tanzania’s unique blend of adventure and elegance, linking vineyard experiences with iconic attractions such as the Serengeti.
Moreover, the ministry mentioned the best travel periods for wine tourism experiences as January to March for harvest activities, and July to October during the cool dry season, when visitors can enjoy both vineyard and safari experiences.
