RABAT: THE former Arsenal manager and current FIFA Chief of Global Football Development, Arsène Wenger, has praised Tanzania’s U-17 national team for their outstanding performance after reaching the AFCON U-17 final and securing qualification for the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar.

The Serengeti Boys booked their place in the final of the continental tournament following an impressive run of form, while also sealing a historic ticket to the FIFA U-17 World Cup scheduled for November 2026 in Qatar.

Wenger congratulated the team, saying Tanzania had performed exceptionally well and played outstanding football throughout the competition.

“Congratulations to Tanzania, you have done extremely well and we are very proud of you and FIFA because you have played fantastic football. To Egypt as well, you had a good game and in the end we saw a fantastic game. And we hope to see you soon and see you at the World Cup,” Wenger said.
