DODOMA: DODOMA Regional Commissioner, Rosemary Senyamule has directed officials overseeing preparations for this year’s Nanenane Agricultural Exhibition to complete key infrastructure at the John Samuel Malecela Exhibition Grounds in Nzuguni on schedule to ensure the venue is ready to receive exhibitors and visitors.
Ms Senyamule issued the directive after inspecting the exhibition grounds, stressing the need to complete the main entrance gate and improve essential public amenities, including reliable water and electricity supply, sanitation facilities and environmental cleanliness.
“Proper preparations will enhance the status of the Nanenane Exhibition and provide farmers, livestock keepers, fishers and other stakeholders with an opportunity to showcase technologies, innovations and achievements that drive economic growth and strengthen food security,” she said.
RC Senyamule said early preparations and close collaboration among stakeholders are crucial to the success of the annual exhibition, which serves as a platform for promoting innovations in the agriculture, livestock and fisheries sectors while creating opportunities for knowledge sharing and business linkages.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Agriculture has assured the regional administration that all preparations are progressing as planned.

Assistant Director for Extension Services, Ms Upendo Mndeme said the ministry would promptly implement all directives issued during the inspection to ensure the venue is fully prepared ahead of the exhibition.
“We are working closely with all stakeholders to ensure every activity is completed within the required timeframe so that exhibitors and visitors find the grounds ready,” Ms Mndeme said.
The exhibition grounds were named after former Prime Minister Dr John Samwel Malecela by President Samia Suluhu Hassan during the climax of the National Farmers’ Day celebrations held at the venue in recognition of his outstanding contribution to agriculture and national development.
Dr Malecela is widely recognised for his role in shaping Tanzania’s agricultural policy and advancing rural development, making the naming of the grounds a lasting tribute to his service to the nation.
