ACCRA: THE President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, has arrived in Ghana for a one-day working visit to participate in the African Union (AU) Special Summit of Heads of State and Government on Health.
The summit is scheduled to take place on July 22, 2026, in Accra and will bring together African leaders to discuss joint strategies for strengthening healthcare systems across the continent.

According to an official statement, the summit will be held under the theme “Advancing Health, Well-being and Healthcare for All.” Discussions will focus on coordinated efforts to combat HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis, reduce preventable maternal and child deaths, and strengthen health systems across Africa.
President Samia’s participation underscores Tanzania’s commitment to working with other African nations to address the continent’s health challenges and promote improved health outcomes and well-being for all Africans.
