DAR ES SALAAM: HALOTEL Tanzania and Samsung Electronics East Africa have unveiled a smartphone financing programme that will enable more Tanzanians to own genuine Samsung devices through flexible payment plans bundled with Halotel voice and data services.
Launched on Thursday at the Halotel pavilion during the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (SabaSaba), the initiative seeks to reduce the upfront cost of smartphone ownership while expanding access to digital services for individuals, families and small businesses.
The partnership comes as demand for smartphones continues to grow, driven by the increasing use of digital financial services, online learning, e-commerce and mobile communication. By combining device financing with affordable connectivity, the two companies aim to make it easier for more Tanzanians to participate in the country’s fast-growing digital economy.
Speaking at the launch, Halotel Tanzania Deputy Managing Director Tran Thi Thuy Dung said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to broadening digital access across the country.
