BUSAN: TANZANIA is participating in the 48th Session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, taking place in Busan, Republic of Korea. The meeting brings together delegates from countries around the world to discuss the conservation of World Heritage Sites and review new nominations for inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The Tanzanian delegation is led by the Minister for Constitution and Legal Affairs, Dr Juma Homera. The delegation also includes Ambassador Saidi Yakubu, Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania to France and Permanent Delegate to UNESCO, and Ambassador Noel Kaganda, Tanzania’s Ambassador to the Republic of Korea.
During the session, Tanzania is taking part in discussions focused on strengthening the conservation, management, and sustainable use of World Heritage Sites while emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in safeguarding the world’s natural and cultural heritage for present and future generations.

Tanzania’s participation also provides an opportunity to promote the country’s rich natural and cultural heritage as a leading tourism destination, while reinforcing its commitment to the implementation of the UNESCO World Heritage Convention.
The session brings together UNESCO Member States, heritage experts, and key stakeholders to make decisions on new sites proposed for inscription on the World Heritage List, while strengthening global efforts to protect and preserve the world’s shared heritage for the benefit of current and future generations.
