DAR ES SALAAM: THE World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) has announced that a total of 150bn/- will be spent on the conservation of Tanzania’s natural resources over a five-year period, starting next year through 2030.
The goal of the program is to strengthen environmental conservation and protect biodiversity in the country.
Speaking during the launch of the Tanzania Natural Resources Conservation Strategy, WWF Tanzania Country Director, Dr Amani Ngusaru, said the amount translates to an average of 25BN/- per year, which will be used to ensure that the set objectives are achieved effectively.
Dr. Ngusaru explained that the organization has put in place strategic plans to accomplish the mission, warning that if the targets are not met by 2030, the world could face even greater environmental challenges. He added that 2030 is a critical milestone in global efforts to protect the environment.
