DODOMA: THE Ministry of Constitution and Legal Affairs is set to launch the second phase of the “Samia Legal Aid” programme in Zanzibar on June 20, 2026, as part of efforts to expand access to justice for citizens.
Minister Juma Homera announced today, May 29, 2026, in Dodoma and said the rollout will be officially launched in Zanzibar, with President Samia Suluhu Hassan expected to be the guest of honour at the event.

The minister made the statement when addressing public complaints through the mobile-based legal aid platform.

Additionally, the minister said that ministry officials will be deployed in Zanzibar for 14 days ahead of the launch to receive and address citizens’ legal concerns in collaboration with the Zanzibar Ministry of Justice.
“The programme will continue across other regions of the country through public forums aimed at listening to and resolving community legal challenges,” he said.

Moreover, he urged cooperation among government institutions to ensure citizens receive timely solutions to legal issues, in line with President Samia’s directive to strengthen access to justice nationwide.
Meanwhile, Mr Homera said that the ‘Speak with the Minister’ program has received a total of 163 complaints and challenges since its launch on March 17, 2026 to today, May 29, of which 60 complaints have already been addressed while 103 are still being addressed.
