DODOMA: THE ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) has expressed satisfaction with what it described as a strong and steady pace of development projects across Tanzania, saying the country is experiencing tangible transformation under President Samia Suluhu Hassan, who also serves as the party chairperson.
Speaking to journalists in Dodoma, CCM Secretary for Ideology, Propaganda and Training Kenani Kihongosi said ongoing development initiatives reflect the government’s sustained commitment to implementing national policies and development plans across key sectors.
He pointed to improvements in health services, education infrastructure, water supply systems, electricity expansion, transport networks and citizen empowerment programmes, saying these gains are the result of consistent policy execution and strengthened coordination within government institutions.
Kihongosi said the scale and consistency of these achievements demonstrate a deliberate and structured national development agenda aimed at improving living standards and expanding access to essential services for citizens across the country.
He emphasized that peace, unity and national solidarity remain the core foundations of sustainable development, noting that no meaningful social or economic progress can be achieved in an environment that is unstable or divided.
He cautioned that any actions, statements, and conduct that undermine national stability risk slowing down development efforts and negatively affecting citizens who depend on reliable public services and expanding economic opportunities.
Comrade Kihongosi further told journalists that the party has received reports indicating that some individuals are attempting to incite divisions and promote violent actions he said pose a threat to Tanzania’s long-standing peace and stability.
Although he did not provide details, he warned that such tendencies, if left unchecked, could weaken the social cohesion that has historically underpinned the country’s development and unity.
In a politically sensitive remark, Kihongosi said CCM has received information indicating that the opposition party CHADEMA has held internal meetings aimed at mobilising protests that could incite unrest and disrupt public order.
The statement comes as political discourse continues, with authorities maintaining vigilance over activities deemed capable of threatening peace, stability, and public order.
He urged Tanzanians to remain vigilant and actively safeguard national unity, stressing that peace is not solely the responsibility of government institutions but a shared duty requiring participation from all citizens.
He called on Wananchi to avoid being drawn into activities that could destabilise the country, insisting that national development depends on cooperation, mutual respect, and a collective commitment to placing national interests above individual and partisan agendas
According to him, Tanzania’s progress will remain sustainable only if citizens uphold values of solidarity, discipline, and patriotism, which he described as essential pillars of long-term prosperity.
“It is the responsibility of each and every one of us to ensure that Tanzania remains safe, peaceful, and stable for the benefit of present and future generations,” Kihongosi said.
He added that development cannot be separated from stability, noting that economic growth, investment, and social progress all depend on a secure environment in which citizens can engage in productive activities without fear or disruption.
Kihongosi reiterated that safeguarding peace is a collective national duty, urging Tanzanians to continue supporting efforts aimed at strengthening unity and advancing the country’s development agenda under the current leadership.
