DAR ES SALAAM: DAR ES SALAAM Regional Commissioner, Albert Chalamila, has said that the region is fully prepared to ensure peace, security and stability throughout the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), popularly known as Sabasaba, which will be held from June 28 to July 13, 2026.

Speaking to journalists today at the Sabasaba Grounds, Chalamila said security agencies, working closely with citizens, have put in place comprehensive measures to protect visitors, exhibitors, traders and members of the public attending the event.

He stressed that no individual will be tolerated if they engage in acts of violence, disorder or any activity that threatens peace during the exhibition, which this year marks its 50th anniversary.

“I would like to assure members of the media that no one will incite violence at these exhibitions or anywhere else and remain untouched. Security organs, in collaboration with citizens, are fully prepared to safeguard our nation and all guests who will participate in these exhibitions,” Chalamila said.

He added that with more than 23 countries from Africa, Asia and Europe having confirmed participation, security has been given special priority to ensure that visitors have a safe environment for business and networking.

Chalamila urged citizens to play an active role in maintaining security by reporting anyone suspected of posing a threat to peace and public safety.

“Protecting peace is the responsibility of every one of us. Reject violence, reject disorder, and report any individual with malicious intentions against our nation to the relevant authorities,” he said.

He further noted that the region has established various health management systems and emergency response services both inside and outside the exhibition grounds to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants throughout the event.

This year’s Sabasaba Trade Fair is expected to attract thousands of exhibitors and visitors from within and outside Tanzania. The event is being held under a theme aimed at promoting international trade, digital technology adoption and the expansion of markets for Tanzanian products.
