The meeting, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation offices in Dar es Salaam, was co-chaired by the ministry’s Acting Director of International Cooperation, Rose Kitandula.
During the meeting, committee members presented updates on key areas, including technical preparations, participant coordination and logistical arrangements aimed at ensuring Tanzania delivers a successful international conference.
After receiving the progress report, the two officials expressed satisfaction with the pace of preparations, while stressing the need to complete the remaining tasks within the set timelines to ensure the summit is efficiently organised and leaves lasting benefits for the country.
According to the ministry, the government believes hosting the event will strengthen Tanzania’s position as a regional hub for trade and investment in East Africa, while encouraging greater private sector participation in implementing the Fourth Five-Year Development Plan (FYDP IV) and advancing the objectives of the National Development Vision 2050.
