
MORONI: MUHIMBILI National Hospital is exploring a strategic healthcare partnership with Comoros following a working visit aimed at strengthening military and civilian medical services in the island nation.
The delegation, led by Muhimbili Executive Director Dr Delilah Kimambo, held high-level talks with the Comoros military leadership and its army hospital to assess infrastructure, medical equipment, and healthcare delivery gaps.
The visit was initiated by the Comoros Defence Forces as part of plans to improve hospital management, specialised treatment, and access to advanced medical care.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, the cooperation areas include hospital management support, specialist and super-specialist services, medical equipment upgrades, staff training and knowledge transfer to boost healthcare quality for both soldiers and civilians in Comoros.
The visit, coordinated by the Tanzanian Embassy in Comoros, reflects Tanzania’s growing health diplomacy agenda aimed at expanding regional cooperation while strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.
