DAR ES SALAAM: DEFENDING champions Dar City have climbed to the top of the men’s standings in the 2026 Basketball Dar es Salaam League (BDL) after maintaining their perfect record over the weekend.
The latest standings show Dar City leading the table with 18 points from nine matches, having won all nine games to remain the only unbeaten side in the men’s category.
They moved above last week’s leaders Pazi, who slipped to third despite also collecting 17 points, behind second-placed Stein Warriors on goal difference.
Stein Warriors and Pazi have each won eight of their nine matches, but Dar City’s flawless campaign has given them a one-point advantage at the summit.
UDSM Outsiders remain fourth with 15 points, while Vijana and JKT are tied on 14 points in fifth and sixth places respectively. ABC occupy seventh place after collecting 13 points from eight matches in the field of 16 men team’s battle.
In the women’s category, Vijana Queens have surged from third place last week to the top of the standings after an impressive weekend.
Vijana Queens now lead the table with 19 points from 11 matches, overtaking previously unbeaten Tausi Royals, who are second with 18 points from nine matches.

Although Vijana Queens occupy first place, Tausi Royals remain the only unbeaten team in the women’s league, having won all nine of their matches. They have played two games fewer than the new leaders and are well placed to reclaim top spot if they maintain their winning form.
DB Troncatti sit third with 16 points, followed by Reel Dream in fourth on 14 points. Ukonga Queens complete the top five with 14 points, while Jeshi Stars, despite playing only seven matches, are sixth with 13 points after winning six of their outings.
With several fixtures still to be played, the race for the BDL 2026 regular-season honours remains wide open in both the men and women’s categories.
